100% of profits from this tank support the Our Islands Our Home Campaign led by Torres Strait Islanders to protect their island homes from climate change.
As part of the ‘Our Islands Our Home’ campaign, in 2022 eight claimants from Zenadth Kes (the Torres Strait Islands & surrounding seas) also known as the Torres Strait 8, won a human rights complaint against the Australian Federal Government for failing to protect the Torres Strait from climate change, setting a precedent for Indigenous Peoples all around the world.
The campaign has now grown to become a powerful Torres Strait Islander led grassroots climate justice movement.
When you wear this tank, you are supporting Torres Strait Islanders fight for climate justice. You are supporting a call to action that Australia must rapidly reduce its carbon emissions, and immediately resource adaptation needs in Zenadth Kes (the Torres Strait Islands & surrounding seas).

‘The white five-pointed star symbolises peace, and the navigational importance of stars to the seafaring people of the Torres Strait.
The five-pointed star also represents the five distinct language and cultural groups of the region. The five island groups are:
• Northern islands (Boigu, Dauan, Saibai)
• Eastern islands (Erub, Mer, Ugar)
• Western islands (St Pauls, Kubin, Badu, Mabuiag)
• Central islands (Masig, Poruma, Warraber, Iama)
• Southern islands (Kirriri (Hammond Island), Waiben (Thursday Island) and Inner Islands, Northern Peninsula Area and Mainland Australia).’

This product is Ally Friendly.
Ally friendly merch is for everyone.
When we see non-Indigenous people wearing our designs, we feel proud that they are repping our merch and culture.
When we see Aboriginal designs in the world, it means Indigenous people are not invisible in the landscape.
But, purchasing from Aboriginal brands, businesses and wearing Indigenous designs alone is surface-level allyship. There needs to be more commitment than just buying from Aboriginal brands and businesses.
Wearing Aboriginal design is not dismantling a system that oppresses Indigenous people. Allies need to do more and learn more. Wearing our tees is a great starting point. We have equipped you with our merch and some of the educational content to go with them. We want you to go out in the world, have these important conversations and find ways to do more and support more.
1. Follow Our Islands Our Home on Instagram and share a post.
2. Sign the petition there is an urgent need for the federal government to fund seawalls across the Torres Strait. Advancing seas are already threatening homes and damaging fresh water supplies, crops, burial grounds and sacred cultural sites.
Join us in calling on the Albanese Government to increase funding for seawalls.
3. Make a donation to power the Our Islands Our Home campaign.
4. Wear your values - 100% of funds from the Our Islands Our Home collection supports the campaign and starts a conservation about the devastating impacts of climate change in the Torres Strait Islands.

Love this top! Quality fabric, design and finish.
This tank is the perfect fit! I love how many people ask for more information regarding why I'm wearing it. It is an easy way to pass on information and assist educating others.
I really love this top and everything it stands for. I work in ocean science, and the impacts of a rising sea level on the Torres Strait and Pacific Islands are already very clear and should be known by everyone.
Soft material, love the tag on the bottom with details and the embroider design on the front.
Quality is amazing x
So they say we stole this land, Briggs says the children came back, I would like to think we only borrowed it and will give it back to the DreamTime Asp but I wish we left it better than we found it.
Seamless ordering process and quick delivery. Will purchase from Clothing The Gaps again.
Great service and communication. Also glad that I've made the connection with you guys because the news emails have alerted me to issues that I was unaware of.
Thankyou
